Displaying 500px collections/galleries

Post by stealthflower » 31 Dec 2015, 21:52

Now that 500px has done away with collections in favour of galleries, is there a way of displaying galleries through photonic instead of collections?

Thanks :)

Yes - please use version 1.52. Your older collections will still work. Also see the examples posted here: http://aquoid.com/news/plugins/photonic/500px

Brilliant, thanks! That worked.

Now I just need to persuade the layouts to play nice with my theme, but that's hardly a Photonic issue.

Are there particular themes you recommend, out of curiosity? And is there a way to display the name of the collection underneath the thumbnail? I read through the general notes, but I can't seem to find anything.

The name of the collection cannot be displayed under the thumbnail: the only way to display the name is upon hovering.

Regarding themes, I don't have any recommendations as such. Photonic should work out of the box with pretty much all the themes available on wordpress.org. Themes from other sources tend to mess around with WP's JQuery libraries, so those present some difficulty particularly on the back-end.
