I am having a similar issue and I am not 100% sure if it is a Suffusion issue or something else.
Here is my issue with screencaps to show the file names and structure via FTP
http://blogs.whataslacker.com/2015/prob ... wordpress/
My plugins do nothing with images so I don't know what could be causing this issue.
These files are duplicates created every month and not just resized when creating a new post. These are from OLD posts.
File names are like this: 01293d5091bfe8c53cee762d132a9527.jpg (but the image is one of mine from an old post)
Plugins (vary by site (some don't have all of these and some have different ones) this is happening on several sites where I am using this theme)

Re: extra images/thumbnails
This has already been done and the issue is still happening. Not using Jetpack.drake wrote:The images can come from Suffusion and WordPress. Thumb-cache is the folder used to generate images for excerpts/tiles/mosaic and widgets thumbnails. If you don't use any of this the images can be disabled at Suffusion Options -> Other Graphical Elements -> Miscellaneous -> Thumbnail Generation. Can also use Photon from Jetpack for resizing the images on wordpress.com servers.
Otherwise, this is the way of resizing images in WordPress - on your server is generated a set of images with different sizes for any image you upload.
These are not resizing images. But duplicates from Older posts.
